Vi Agroforestry’s Sara Dahl Swede of the Month in Uganda
Vi Agroforestry’s Country Manager in Uganda, Sara Dahl, was recently interviewed and featured as the Swede of the Month by the Embassy of Sweden in Kampala.
Sara Dahl says the most rewarding part of her job is to be able to contribute to a sustainable development of small-holder farmers, their farms and their farm businesses.
- It is extremely rewarding to meet farmers that have managed to turn yields of poor quality and low quantities into a prosperous farming system including the use of sustainable agricultural methods such as the integration of trees, intercropping, composting and nutrient management and integrated livestock management. Such development does not only result in food security and increased nutrition but can also contribute to increased income, schooling for children and gender equality within the household, says Sara.
