Vi Agroforestry is now looking for a Regional Director
Vi Agroforestry is now looking for a Regional Director for Eastern Africa. As such you have the overall responsibility for the Vi Agroforestry development cooperation in the region.
As the Regional Director you ensure that all activities are conducted and developed in accordance with the Vi Agroforestry´s objectives, policies, strategies, guidelines and working methods and of high quality through systematic planning, monitoring and evaluation.
The Regional Director is the representative of the organisation in the East Africa and keeps abreast of current issues in the region and countries of strategic value to the organisation. You involve yourself in strategic networking, relationship building with strategic actors to identify and develop partnership and funding opportunities in the region as well as in Sweden. You move the organisation forward and always look for ways to develop programmes, new partnerships and financing opportunities; all aiming at to further reduce poverty in the region.
Vi Agroforestry fights poverty through agroforestry and strengthening of farmers´ organisations in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Over one hundred employees are working in the country and regional offices. As the Regional Director, you have a regional management team comprised of four Country Managers as well as a regional team that report directly to you. You are based at our Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya. You will travel a lot in the region and also to our Head Office in Stockholm. As Regional Director you are part of the international department at the Head Office and report to its Head.

We want you to have several years ‘ proven experience in managing development programmes and staff with good results. You are an experienced and mature leader with experience of both Vi Agroforestry core areas and issues around climate change. You have several years of experience in performance management, organisational development and change management. You are good on methodological issues and the development of programmes. You have good expertise in gender and advocacy work. You have good understanding in financial management and financial analysis as well as a good knowledge of Swedish development cooperation policy and Civil Society Organisations. We want you to have experience of working in a developing country. You have a relevant university degree, as well as very good skills in English and Fluent Swedish as working languages.
