Rising temperatures
Global warming due to climate change results in increasingly extreme weather events such as droughts and floodings. This causes major concerns for people and animals around the world. One of them is that it gets harder to grow food. People in a situation of poverty who depend on agriculture for their livelihoods have few means to cope with climate change. Vi Agroforestry fights poverty and climate change together, using sustainable agricultural land management methods.
Current Vi Agroforestry climate compensation projects
Vi Agroforestry climate compensation/offsetting projects focus on poverty reduction, environmental improvement through agroforestry, improved farming practices and support to farm enterprise development. Agroforestry methods enhance carbon sequestration and thereby contribute to the mitigation of climate change.
