From Exhibition Platform to National Dialogue

At Tanzania’s largest agricultural exhibition, Nane Nane 2026, Vi Agroforestry took a deliberate step beyond traditional exhibition activities. While thousands of visitors explored innovations in agriculture, the organization used the event to champion agroforestry as a practical solution for increasing productivity, restoring landscapes, strengthening climate resilience and improving farmer livelihoods.

For more than three decades, Vi Agroforestry has worked alongside farmers, civil society organizations and public institutions in Tanzania to promote farming systems that integrate trees, crops and livestock. These systems continue to demonstrate their value in improving soil fertility, enhancing food security and helping communities adapt to climate change.

Turning Evidence Into Action

A major highlight of Vi Agroforestry’s participation was a high-level side event organised jointly with the Civic Social Protection Foundation (CSP Foundation) under the theme:

“From Evidence to Investment and Action: Advancing Agroforestry for Agricultural Productivity, Climate Resilience and Farmer Prosperity in Tanzania.”

The side event brought together farmers, policymakers, researchers, civil society organizations, development partners and private-sector actors to discuss how agroforestry can contribute more effectively to Tanzania’s development priorities.
