Agroforestry Network is a network for international agroforestry practice, based in Sweden, bringing together agroforestry experts from different organisations and institutions.

SIANI
The Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative (SIANI) is a global, open and inclusive network that supports and promotes multisector dialogue and action around our vision of sustainable, rights-based and inclusive food systems.
Focali
The Forest, Climate, and Livelihood research network (Focali) is bridging forest, climate and livelihood research with policy and practice since 2008. The research network includes about 120 members from a range of natural and social science disciplines.
SIWI
Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) is an independent water institute with the vision of a Water Wise World – a world that recognizes the value of water and ensures that it is inclusively shared and used sustainably, equitably and efficiently for all. SIWI addresses global water challenges by strengthening water governance across public and private sectors at all levels—local to global. The institute leads several projects focused on water for resilient landscapes, securing water resources, and maintaining hydrological flows through integrated landscape management. This includes approaches such as agroforestry, forest and landscape restoration, and the forest-water nexus, as well as related issues like climate change and biodiversity loss.
SLU Global
The University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is a leading international university within agriculture and forestry. SLU has several ongoing research projects about agroforestry, including in Vietnam, Mozambique, Kenya and Uganda. These projects address topics such as integrated landscape restauration, agroforestry-bioenergy systems, and how agroforestry contributes to sustainable livelihoods, environmental resilience and climate change adaptation. SLU also offers a course in agroforestry, exploring various agroforestry systems, their impact and sustainability.
SLU Global supports SLU staff in their work for global development through initiating collaborations, facilitating contacts and building strong networks within and outside SLU.
Swedish Society for Nature Conservation
The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, established 1909, is the largest environmental organisation in Sweden with more than 200,000 members. SSNC conducts international work together with partner organisations in Asia, Africa and Latin America, with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The organisation focuses on strengthening the capacity of local communities, environmental movements, small-scale farmers, fishers, and their associations—helping them organize, advocate for their rights, and increase their influence in building a fair, sustainable, inclusive, and gender-equal society. SSNC also promotes agroforestry practices through its partners who implement projects on the ground.
Agroforestry Sweden
Agroforestry Sweden is a non-profit organization committed to promoting agroforestry across Sweden. Its work spans from small-scale forest gardens to agroforestry practices on arable land, pastures, and forested areas. The organization engages in Swedish policy development as a referral body to the Swedish Board of Agriculture and serves as a networking platform at both local and national levels.
At the European level, Agroforestry Sweden represents Swedish agroforestry farmers within the European Agroforestry Federation. Through its involvement in the Agroforestry Network, the organization connects Swedish efforts with those of partners in the Global South—raising awareness of agroforestry’s benefits worldwide and learning from decades of experience in tropical agroforestry.
World Agroforestry
The Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) harnesses the power of trees, forests and agroforestry landscapes to address the most pressing global challenges of our time – biodiversity loss, climate change, food security, livelihoods and inequity. CIFOR and ICRAF are CGIAR Research Centers.

NIRAS is a multidisciplinary consultancy firm based in Scandinavia, working globally to deliver sustainable development solutions. With expertise across agriculture, climate, energy, governance, and infrastructure, NIRAS supports public and private sector clients in implementing impactful, locally anchored projects that promote inclusive growth and resilience.
Stockholm Resilience Centre
Stockholm Resilience Centre explores how people and nature can live and develop on a planet under pressure. Founded in 2007, the centre is a collaboration between Stockholm University and the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics at the Royal Swedish Academy Sciences.
Vi Agroforestry
Vi Agroforestry (in Swedish: Vi-skogen) founded Agroforestry Network in 2015 in order to make agroforestry more recognized among development aid stakeholders and to share knowledge with other agroforestry experts.
